The domain name sniffer is a simple tool that makes it easier for you to determine if domain names are available, as well as check out a variety of permutations on domain names.

You can use it in one of two ways; if you simply enter a list of words into one of the boxes below (and leave the other one blank) as well as check off the desired suffixes (.com, .org and/or .net), it will check to see if those domains are available. However, if you put a list of words in both boxes, it will try all the combinations of the words in the first box and the second box.

For example:
NOTE: entering big lists of words in both boxes and checking multiple root domains (.com, .net and .org) will generate a large number of combinations to check. To avoid being rude and placing a large demand on the Network Solutions whois servers, if the total number of combinations (number of words in the first box * number in the second box * number of selections checked) is greater than 60, the check will not be done.

Currently, this tool only works for .com, .net and .org domains. Also, since it does the queries "while-you-wait" it may take a while to run if you enter a lot of domain names or ask it to do a lot of combinations.

As this is a new and experimental secret net tool, your comments and suggestions are much appreciated.

Check for the following types of domains:
.com .net .org

Enter domains (one per line). Do not include the www. or the http:// or even the .com. Just words. Example: "animeigo"

If you want to do combinations of words, enter the second list of words here, otherwise leave this box blank.

For each available domain name that the sniffer finds, a link will be generated that will let you easily register it. You can choose the registrar the link points to from the following list. Each registrar pays me a commission if you register a domain with them. These commissions are donated to my favorite efficient charity, the Salvation Army. Please note that as I have no personal experience with these services, I cannot personally recommend one over another.

Registrar Fees |Salvation Army gets $54.00 (2 years) or $39.00 (1 year)|$9.00 (2 years) or $10.00 (1 year) $59.00 (2 years) or $30.00 (1 year)|$10.00 (2 years) or $5.00 (1 year)

Note: The server that runs most of the secret net tools has a bad habit of crashing a couple of times a day. Don't blame me, it's not my code that's crashing it! If you submit the form and nothing happens, just wait a few minutes and submit again; the server will reboot itself after 5-10 minutes. I'm yelling at the guilty parties to get this annoying bug fixed.
